Diversity in Education

Twelve students from seven diverse nationalities recently celebrated their graduation from an intensive Arabic language course in Sharjah, marking a pivotal step in their cultural and linguistic journeys. Representing India, Armenia, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Pakistan, and Russia, the students immersed themselves in learning the Arabic language and exploring Arab culture.

Among the graduates, Shahzadi Urooj from Pakistan expressed her lifelong passion for learning Arabic. She found the language captivating and recognized its value as a skill. Highlighting memorable experiences like cultural trips and the graduation ceremony, Shahzadi is now aiming to pursue further studies at Qasimia University. She encouraged others to consider learning Arabic, calling it a rewarding decision.

Marine, an Armenian student, was inspired by her love for Arabic music and the region. Though she initially struggled with the alphabet, the course's engaging activities made the experience enjoyable. She valued the cultural exposure gained during her stay in the UAE, including music, food, and festivals.

Najjah from India, motivated by her religious connection to the Quran, shared how learning Arabic improved her ability to teach her children, who study the language at school. Despite challenges with spelling, she gained confidence through practice and developed a deeper appreciation for Arabic culture.

Ryan Yates, an American student, aimed to enhance his Quranic recitation and improve his conversational skills for business. While he faced difficulties with grammar and reading, he appreciated the supportive, family-like environment of the classes.

The Arabic Language Centre, established in 2018 as part of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, offers structured courses in Modern Standard Arabic. Since its inception, the center has graduated over 100 international students, enriched their language skills and fostering cultural exchange. Many graduates, inspired by their progress, are eager to continue advancing their Arabic proficiency.
