About Me

I’m Raya Ali, an experienced teacher and linguist based in Chennai, India, originally from Syria. I hold a Ph.D. in English Language Teaching and a Master’s degree in English. Currently, I teach Arabic online at Class of Choice in Sharjah, UAE, working with both native and non-native speakers across all ages. My teaching focuses on practical language use and adapts to diverse learning styles and proficiency levels, helping students build strong skills in Arabic and English. I have a passion for language education, with experience tutoring children and teens aged 6 to 18, and volunteering with Syrian refugee children. Fluent in Arabic and advanced in English, I bring cultural insight and academic expertise to my lessons. My research on translanguaging highlights my commitment to innovative teaching methods. I am dedicated to inspiring and supporting the next generation of Arabic learners through engaging, effective language education.
