I’m Raya Ali, an experienced Arabic teacher and linguist currently based in Chennai, India. Originally from Syria, I’ve dedicated my career to language education, drawing on my rich cultural background and extensive academic training. I hold a Ph.D. in English Language Teaching from SRM Institute of Science and Technology and a Master’s degree in English from Jain (Deemed-to-be University). As an Arabic teacher at Class of Choice in Sharjah, UAE, I excel at delivering engaging online classes for native and non-native speakers, focusing on skills development for both children and adults. My teaching methodology emphasizes practical language use, catering to various learning styles and proficiency levels. My passion for language education extends beyond the classroom. I have a strong background in tutoring English and Arabic, with experience teaching students aged 6 to 18. I’ve also conducted educational sessions for Syrian refugee children as a volunteer, which reflects my commitment to making a positive impact in my community. Fluent in Arabic and advanced in English, I bring a unique perspective to my teaching. My dedication to fostering multilingualism is further illustrated in my published research on translanguaging in the classroom, where I explore innovative pedagogical approaches.
